Red-breasted geese by Mladen Vasilev, http://www.mladvaswildlife.com/
Half of the global population of the The Red-breasted Goose use the coastal lakes of Shabla and Durankulak as their traditional wintering grounds. Twice a year these unique birds travel a distance of about 6000 km between the Siberian tundra, where they breed, and the Black Sea coastal lakes in north-eastern Bulgaria, where they find refuge in winter. More about the Redbreasts and our conservation efforts you can find in our projects section.
